BARR. MRS MARGARET NWAGBO
Mrs. Margaret Nwagbo is a past Chairperson of International Federation of Women Lawyers Anambra State. She was called to Bar in 1980 and has been actively involved in women issues since 1982. Developing women and protecting their rights locally and nationally.
Through her initiative the Anambra State Widowhood Law was translated into local languages and disseminated in Local Government Areas of Anambra state. At the local level she is a leader of a community women association. She is also a Professional Mediation and a member of the governing council of Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators. She was honoured as a diamond mother by CWO Uruagu Deanery Nnewi in 2009.
She has been involved in Community Development Work, provisions of free Legal Aid and Counselling and MediationsServices, through FIDA. In all she also provided free Legal Aid to about 1000 women from Enugu and Anambra state of Nigeria. She is the Chairperson of Child Protection Network Enugu, Zonal Coordinator Centre for the Eradication of Violence Against Women.
She is presently the founder of Legal Redress and JusticeCentre and in corporate legal practice.
